This intensive, fun-filled week features master classes, reed-making, bassoon choir (and more) and culminates in performances by faculty and participants. The eight Annual Ball State High School Bassoon Camp, hosted by Keith Sweger, will take place from Sunday, July 22 through Saturday, July 28, 2007 on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Leonard Hindell, former member of the New York Philharmonic, will be the guest clinician. Paul Nordby will offer tips on bassoon care and maintenance. Events will include master classes, faculty and student recitals, reed making classes, chamber ensembles, a trip to the Fox factory, and attendance at an Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra concert. WINDFEST 2007 WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY WATERLOO, ONTARIO
May 28 – June 16

WindFest is a three-week performance workshop designed for pairs of oboes, clarinets, horns and bassoons concentrating on wind octet repertoire of the 18th century (Harmoniemusik). Admission is by audition only (live or taped) and recommendation of instrumental teacher. The course is co-ordinated by instructor Nina Brickman. The faculty includes members of the Kitchener/Waterloo Symphony and the Canadian Chamber Ensemble and WLU faculty. Weekly lessons and seminars are included as well as 2 performances per week. Penn State's High School Summer Music Camp will be held July 15-21. This is one of the few comprehensive one-week programs available in this part of the country. Bassoon students will have opportunities to perform in orchestra, concert band, and chamber music. In addition, there will be master classes and sectionals for bassoonists and instruction available in theory, sight-singing, listening and conducting. I will be working with the camp's bassoon students and coaching chamber music. Scholarship funds are available for well-qualified bassoonists.

The New York Summer Music Festival at SUNY Oneonta - Established in 1889 as a state school, SUNY Oneonta is a multi-purpose college of liberal arts and sciences, known for its exceptional facilities and its beautiful campus.

Students are provided with opportunities to study extensively in many areas of instruction, including: Orchestras and bands for instrumentalists; Choral ensembles and original music theatre projects for vocalists; Composition workshops; A number of jazz classes and ensembles for those who desire intensive jazz training, and; Classes introducing new instruments, such as beginning piano and beginning guitar. In addition to supplemental classes spanning a wide range of ability levels and interests in areas of: music history, theory, computer technology in music, filmmaking, jazz improvisation, and many others!
