Summer Bassoon Extravaganza 2008 (June 22-28) is a week-long, stay-over camp hosted by Emory University. This intensive, fun-filled week features master classes, reed-making, bassoon choir (and more) and culminates in performances by faculty and participants. Highly-regarded professional bassoonists/educators lead the week. Guest artist/clinicians include members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. SBE is ideal for middle and high school bassoonists. WINDFEST 2007 WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY WATERLOO, ONTARIO
May 28 – June 16
WindFest is a three-week performance workshop designed for pairs of
oboes, clarinets, horns and bassoons concentrating on wind octet repertoire
of the 18th century (Harmoniemusik). Admission is by audition only (live or
taped) and recommendation of instrumental teacher. The course is co-ordinated
by instructor Nina Brickman. The faculty includes members of the
Kitchener/Waterloo Symphony and the Canadian Chamber Ensemble and WLU
faculty. Weekly lessons and seminars are included as well as 2 performances

From the web site: The mission of the Texas Music Festival is to prepare college aged and young professional musicians for careers in music through a four-week intensive summer orchestral training program. The Texas Music Festival serves communities in the greater Houston area, College Station, and throughout the Southeastern Texas regions with a diverse array of orchestral and chamber music performances by student participants, faculty, and guest artists.

The New York Summer Music Festival at SUNY Oneonta - Established in 1889 as a state school, SUNY Oneonta is a multi-purpose college of liberal arts and sciences, known for its exceptional facilities and its beautiful campus. Students are provided with opportunities to study extensively in many areas of instruction, including: Orchestras and bands for instrumentalists; Choral ensembles and original music theatre projects for vocalists; Composition workshops; A number of jazz classes and ensembles for those who desire intensive jazz training, and; Classes introducing new instruments, such as beginning piano and beginning guitar. In addition to supplemental classes spanning a wide range of ability levels and interests in areas of: music history, theory, computer technology in music, filmmaking, jazz improvisation, and many others! The NYSMF is for students ages 10-20. Students may attend for 2, 4, or 6 weeks

Penn State's High School Summer Music Camp will be held July 17-23. This is one of the few comprehensive one-week programs available in this part of the country. Bassoon students will have opportunities to perform in orchestra, concert band, and chamber music. In addition, there will be master classes and sectionals for bassoonists and instruction available in theory, sight-singing, listening and conducting. I will be working with the camp's bassoon students and coaching chamber music. Scholarship funds are available for well-qualified bassoonists.

Please join us for a week of individual attention and ensemble playing at St.
John's Episcopal Cathedral in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Each day will include a
class for advanced and professional players and another class for less

workshop for the harpsichordists will be learning and perfecting the art of
playing figured bass. Michael, Washington and Arthur will be assisted by Bruce
Barber, choir director, organist and harpsichordist at St. John's Cathedral. A

Le congrès de l' association "bassons" a lieu cette année au C.N.R de Caen les ,9,10 et 11 Mai 2003;Si vous êtes intéressé par un emplacement au sein du C.NR au milieu des autres exposants, je vous prie de bien vouloir me le faire savoir rapidement; (je suis désolé de vous prévenir si tard , mais j'ai moi même appris il y a très peu de temps que ce congrès avait lieu chez nous à Caen où mon épouse Madame Marianne Carré-Montac et moi même jean-claude Montac enseignons tous les deux). Les emplacements seront dans le hall du conservatoire qui est immense et vous aurez également, en plus, une salle de cours du conservatoire pour entreposer du matériel ou faire des essais avec les congressistes. L' association "bassons" demande une participation financière de l' ordre de 760€ pour pouvoir bénéficier de ces quatre jours de congrès et d' exposition; un fait important est à signaler, car au cours de ce congrès, il n'y aura aucune manifestation ou prestation superposée à une autre; tous les concerts, conférences et master-class se succèderont avec des pauses, justement, pour permettre à tous de venir vous voir.
Les solistes avec orchestre seront: Mickael Werba (soliste au philharmonique de Viennes), Anders Engtröm (soliste et professeur à Stockolm), Gilbert Audin et Nicolas Pinard solistes à l'opéra de Paris, et bien sûr il vous est possible de nous proposer (à vos frais) un de vos solistes si vous le désirez; soit en concerto avec orchestre, soit sonate avec piano ou clavecin.
